How we review AI companion apps
How NSFW AI Chats checks AI companion apps: three levels of evidence, what each review records, how we pick and order services, and how we make money.

Three levels of evidence
Every review states which level it reached, with the date and the country we checked from.
- Public documents. We read the service's own pricing page, terms, privacy policy and help center from a US connection, and save screenshots of what a logged-out visitor sees.
- Free account. Where the service allows it without a phone number, payment card, ID or CAPTCHA, we sign up with a throwaway email, send a short, non-explicit conversation, and record what the free plan allows, where it stops, and how to delete the account. When signup is blocked (for example by a CAPTCHA), the review says so and stays at the public-documents level.
- Paid test. Buying a plan and testing paid features. We have not done paid tests yet. No review on this site claims paid-feature quality.
What each review records
Price in US dollars as shown to a US visitor, with the billing period and what renews; the free allowance in the provider's own words; adult-content rules, age rules and the rule on real people; how data is kept and deleted; and screenshots with captions. Each fact links to its source and carries the date we checked it. When two of the provider's own documents disagree, we quote both.
How we choose and order services
Lists are ordered by how well a service matches the stated need of that page (for example a free allowance, voice, or an app), using the facts above. We do not score services with stars or points. A service is recommended only if it passes our editorial policy; other services can appear as neutral reference pages.
What we do not do
We do not publish explicit images or chat transcripts, we do not invent test results, and we do not accept payment for placement or order. Our editorial policy explains which services we recommend, which we only describe, and which we do not cover.
How we make money
Some links to services may become affiliate links. If you subscribe through one, we may earn a commission. It never changes which services we recommend or their order. Pages say when a link is an affiliate link.
