Candy AI review: the price beyond the subscription

We opened the public US site, subscription page, character builder and help pages, then submitted the free email registration form. The form returned “Please verify the Captcha.” We stopped there. The registration screenshot in the gallery shows the form with the email and password fields cleared.

That leaves the signed-in chat, response speed, memory, settings and account-deletion flow untested. The free allowances in this review come from Candy AI’s published help pages; we did not measure them in an account. No payment was made.

Candy AI is run by EverAI Limited, a company registered in Malta. You pick a ready-made companion from the catalog or build your own, then chat by text, and pay tokens for pictures, voice notes, calls and short videos. It runs in the browser only. There is no App Store or Google Play app, which also means billing goes straight through Candy, not Apple or Google.

The catalog is large and leans heavily on photo-realistic characters, with an anime option in the builder. Around the chat, Candy has added extras such as Shorts, Candy Cam, Roulette and interactive stories. Most of them are token-priced, and the help center doesn't publish what each one costs.

Text chat and media have different budgets. Standard Premium advertises unlimited text chat and 100 tokens a month. Images, listening to voice messages, calls and videos draw on tokens. The public pages do not show the prices of the packs or the cost of each image, so a realistic monthly media budget cannot be calculated from this visit.

The referral page calls 200 tokens a $20 value. That is a promotional valuation, not a verified store price; we have not used it to estimate your bill. Before choosing a long subscription, check the signed-in token store for the features you actually want.

Refunds require a separate request within 24 hours, a card payment and no more than 20 tokens used. Cancelling a subscription is not the same as requesting a refund.

Five messages. That is across all characters, not per character, so the free plan is a preview rather than a way to use the service. You can also create one character and generate one image. Live Action and the other extras are Premium only.

The public builder walks you through choices one screen at a time: girl or trans character, realistic or anime style, then appearance details such as ethnicity, body and outfit, then personality. You can click through it without an account, but saving the result needs one. Free accounts can keep a single custom character.

Adult images and videos are Premium features, and they cost tokens on top of the plan. Video is generated from an image or from preset scenes; the help center says Candy does not support video from scratch. Voice calls are still marked beta.

Users can't upload their own photos to generate from. Candy's content rules ban images meant to resemble real people. Separately, the platform hosts licensed "digital twins" of real adult creators, made with their consent, so you will see real performers' names in the catalog.

The help center directs users to My Profile → Settings → Unsubscribe. For account deletion, it describes Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. It says deleting an account also cancels an active subscription. We checked these instructions, not the signed-in deletion flow.

The terms say unused tokens expire when the subscription ends. A help article updated in August says the balance stays after cancellation. Those statements conflict. Ask support to confirm the rule for your balance before cancelling; do not buy extra tokens on an assumption about rollover.

Pick it if you want one place for chat, pictures and voice, you're happy in a browser, and you prefer one upfront annual bill to monthly payments.

Skip it if you mainly want long free conversations (five messages won't tell you much), if you need an app-store app with Apple or Google billing, or if you want to know the exact cost of every image before you pay.
