Secrets AI review: plans, Moments and what the free tier really gets you

We opened the US store, the public catalog, the character builder, the official wiki and the legal pages after clicking through the 18+ prompt. Then we tried to create a free account with a disposable email. After one submit, the form showed a Cloudflare "Verify you are human" check. We stopped there.

So the signed-in chat, reply speed, memory, the 20-message daily limit, settings and account deletion are untested. Free allowances and feature costs below come from Secrets AI's own wiki and store. No payment was made.

Secrets AI is run by Secret Labs Inc., with a mailing address in Dover, Delaware; its terms say the company is registered in Canada and the United States. You pick a companion from a large catalog of realistic and anime characters or build your own, chat by text, and spend Moments, the site's tokens, on pictures, short videos and voice calls. The home page also runs Shorts, serialized mini-dramas with new episodes daily.

It lives in the browser. The wiki says outright that Secrets is not on the App Store or Google Play and that any listing there is not theirs; you install it as a web app from secrets.ai instead.

The regular prices are simple: Premium $19.99 a month or $109.99 a year, Ultimate $39.99 a month or $319.99 a year. On the day we checked, a Halloween sale cut Ultimate's first year to $249.99; after that it renews at $319.99.

The store also shows strike-through prices of $39.99 and $79.99 and badges such as "77% OFF". Those reference prices don't appear in the wiki's price list, and the menu, builder and catalog each advertised a different discount (50%, 67%, 54%). Treat the regular prices as the real comparison.

Premium includes 8,000 Moments a month and Ultimate 15,000. They reset on your renewal date instead of rolling over. At the published rates, one image costs 50 Moments, a video clip 600 to 1,200 and a call 50 a minute, so you can check your budget before paying. Extra Moments need a paid plan, and their pack prices only appear after you sign in.

Twenty messages a day with any companion and basic memory. The limit is tied to your device, so a second account doesn't reset it. Free accounts get no monthly Moments and can't buy them, which rules out images, video and calls.

The wiki contradicts itself here. The plans page says custom characters need a subscription, while the custom-characters guide says free users can create one and send it 100 messages in total. The sign-up window we saw also promised "200 Free Moments" on a countdown. We couldn't confirm either in an account.

The public builder takes six steps: gender and realistic or anime style, ethnicity and eye colour, hair, body type, then name, age (18 to 99), location and one of 148 voices. You can click through it logged out, but creating the character needs an account.

You can't upload your own photos; the privacy policy says all images and video are generated on the platform. Reference photos for advanced images come from your own generated gallery, and a privacy check rejects ones that look like a real person. Prompts that are blocked before generation aren't charged.

Charges show as "S LABS INC", according to the store, the wiki and the privacy policy. Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) and more than 300 cryptocurrencies are accepted. Refunds are narrow: no money back for unused days, Moments are final, and crypto payments are never refunded. EU and UK users get a 14-day withdrawal right on the first purchase.

You cancel under Settings, Manage Subscription and keep access until the period ends. The wiki says your account then drops to Free with chats and characters intact, while the terms say the account "will automatically close" at that point. If your history matters, ask support which rule applies before the paid period runs out.

The privacy policy describes AES-256 encryption at rest and encryption in transit, not the "end-to-end encryption" the home page advertises. The policy lists "train and improve our AI models" among the uses of your data, and the wiki documents no opt-out switch. Deleting your account in User Settings removes personal data and chat history at once; billing records are kept for seven years.

Pick it if you want chat plus pictures, short videos and calls in one browser tab, and you like knowing what each image or minute will cost before you spend. The yearly Premium plan at $109.99 is the cheapest way in.

Skip it if you want a long free trial (20 messages a day is a sample), an app-store app with Apple or Google billing, or refunds after you've started using a plan.
