HOW WE CHECKED On October 23, 2026 we read EVA AI's terms, privacy policy and child-safety standards and checked its US App Store and Google Play listings. EVA AI only runs as a phone app, so we could not sign up or test the chat from a browser. Nothing in this review comes from a signed-in session, and we bought nothing.

What we checked on 23 October 2026
We read the iOS and Android terms, the privacy policy and the child-safety standards, and opened the US App Store and Google Play listings. EVA AI has no browser version: evaapp.ai is a landing page with store buttons, and app.evaapp.ai forwards to Joi AI. Installing a phone app was outside this check, so we did not sign up, chat, or test memory, limits or deletion.
What EVA AI is
EVA AI, on Google Play since February 2021, is a companion chat app run by Novi Limited in Nicosia, Cyprus. The same company operates Joi AI. You pick or build a character, chat by text, and on Android the terms also describe voice and video calls.
The important line is in section 5 of the terms: you may not use EVA AI for "any sexually explicit, pornographic, or adult-themed content". The App Store still rates it 18+ for suggestive themes, but this is not an NSFW chat, and the adult product from the same company is Joi AI.
What it costs
There is no price page. The App Store lists four separate "1 Month Membership" items from $11.99 to $24.99, a 3-month plan at $20.99, a yearly plan at $47.99 and an "EVA Premium" item at $13.99, without explaining the differences. The terms say prices "may vary based on region, length of subscription and more", so what you see in the app may differ.
On top of that, EVA sells Neurons ($9.99 for 500, $29.99 for 2,000). They pay for virtual gifts and for "romantic messages", replies the app keeps locked until you spend 2 Neurons to read each one.
What the free plan gets you
The free tier is called Basic and gives "limited access to the Service". EVA does not publish what that limit is, and we could not measure it without the app.
Refunds, deletion and your characters
You pay and cancel through Apple or Google, and the terms are blunt: store purchases are final and EVA will not refund them. You can delete your account inside the app; the terms call it irreversible, and the privacy policy says you can also ask support.
One clause is worth knowing before you build a character: EVA reserves the right to change a private character to public. You can then ask support to make it private again or delete it.
Who should pick EVA AI, and who should skip it
Pick it if you want a phone companion for flirty but non-explicit conversation and you are comfortable paying through the App Store or Google Play.
Skip it if you are looking for adult chat or images, want to use a browser, or need clear pricing before you install.
