HOW WE CHECKED On October 23, 2026 we read Anima's terms, content, underage, refund and privacy policies, and checked myanima.ai and the Google Play listing from a US connection. Because the terms let supervised minors use the service, we did not create an account or try the guest mode. Nothing here comes from inside the app.

What we checked on 23 October 2026
We read the terms of use, subscription terms, refund, content, underage and privacy policies, opened myanima.ai and its sign-in screen, and checked Google Play and the US App Store. We did not sign up or use the guest mode, because the terms do not limit the service to adults.
What Anima is
Anima markets itself as a "Virtual AI Friend": you design a companion's personality, tone and style and chat with it, with roleplay as an option. The terms name Ichigoichie Tech Limited, a Delaware company with an office in Las Vegas, and an arbitration address in Limassol, Cyprus; the Google Play developer is LABANE CORP. Limited.
Every visit to myanima.ai opens a pop-up saying "Anima is still here, but we've built a more advanced experience", with a large button to a separate app called GetHoney.
Who it is meant for
Section 3.3 of the terms says the service is "not intended" for people under 18, then says minors may use it with a parent's permission and supervision. Google Play rates the Android app Everyone and describes it as help for stress and mental health.
The content rules point the other way. The Blocked Content Policy bans adult and sexually explicit content, CSAM and anything resembling minors, while the Underage Policy says the website "includes AI-generated adult content for registered users only". Anima has not reconciled these documents, so you cannot tell from the rules what the product actually allows.
What it costs
There is no price page. The subscription terms mention weekly, monthly, six-month and yearly plans and free trials that turn into paid plans unless cancelled. Google Play shows only a range of in-app items, $0.99 to $199.99. Website purchases can be refunded only if you ask within 24 hours of paying; app-store purchases follow Apple or Google rules.
Privacy
The privacy policy says Anima uses data to "train and improve our AI models" and keeps personal data for as long as it considers "reasonably necessary". It does not describe an in-app deletion flow; for website subscriptions, the terms send you to [email protected].
Who it fits, and who should look elsewhere
Anima fits someone who wants a simple, non-explicit AI friend on Android and does not mind unclear pricing.
If you are an adult looking for companion or roleplay chat with clear 18+ rules, published prices and consistent policies, choose a service that states them plainly.
