What we checked on 23 October 2026
We read Emochi's public pages from a US connection without signing in: the catalog, the EMOCHI+ plans, the Mochi wallet, the terms, privacy policy, EULA and Safety Center, plus the Google Play listing. We did not create an account, so chat quality, limits inside the app and the deletion flow are not covered here. No payment was made.
What Emochi is
Emochi is a character roleplay app from FlowGPT. You browse a catalog of user-made characters, mostly romance, drama and fantasy stories, and chat with them on the web or in the Android app. The catalog opens without an account, and the free tier shows ads.
Despite the romance focus, Emochi does not allow explicit content. Its terms forbid user submissions with "sexually explicit content or pornography", and the Safety Center lists the same rule. Google Play rates the app Mature 17+ for sexual themes and strong language.
What it costs
Plus is $9.99 a month and Ultra $16.99, with cheaper quarterly and yearly billing (full table above). Both remove ads and unlock premium models, unlimited messages and memory tools. Ultra adds higher voice and image quotas plus 2,000 Mochi a month.
Mochi is the in-app currency, sold in packs from $1.99 to $99.99. The public pages don't say what each feature costs in Mochi. The plans page and the wallet also disagree on the number of premium models, 7 versus 5.
The free plan
Free gets two chat models, five voice messages and five smart replies a day, and one Exclusive Moment, with ads. Emochi does not publish a message cap for free users, but Plus advertises unlimited messages, so expect a limit.
The age rules don't agree
The terms, dated March 10, 2026, say the service is not directed to children under 16 and that under-16 users may not register. They also allow use with a parent's permission for users below contract age. The Safety Center, updated September 30, 2026, says you must be at least 18 and that parental permission does not change that. The privacy policy still talks about children under 13 and 16. Emochi says it uses age verification in selected regions.
Billing and privacy
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. The terms say app purchases go through the app store, and refunds for them are handled by that store. Emochi doesn't publish the name that appears on a card statement for web payments.
The privacy policy allows anonymized, aggregated user data to be used for model training, and keeps personal data for as long as your account is open. For deletion, the Safety Center sends you to support.
Who it suits
Emochi fits readers who want story-driven romance roleplay without explicit content and don't mind ads on the free tier. It does not fit anyone looking for an adult chat service, because explicit content is against its rules.
