iGirl review: an AI girlfriend app with loose age rules

We read the US Google Play listing, the myanima.ai landing page it links to, the terms and privacy policy linked from the app, and searched the US App Store. We did not install the app or sign up. iGirl is not on our recommended list, and we only open free accounts on services whose terms explicitly ban sexual content involving minors.

So nothing here comes from a chat: speed, memory, free limits and in-app prices were not measured, and no payment was made.

iGirl: AI Girlfriend has been on Google Play since 2021, published by LABANE CORP. Limited of Limassol, Cyprus, the company behind the Anima companion apps. You pick or build a 2D or 3D girlfriend, set her personality and chat; the listing promises flirting, "Hot Roleplay" and memories that grow as you talk. A web version runs on myanima.ai.

Two details are worth knowing. The terms linked from the web landing name a different company, Ichigoichie Tech Limited of Delaware, while the terms linked from the app name Labane. And the iPhone app called "iGirl" on the US App Store comes from another publisher entirely, so don't assume it's the same product.

Nobody publishes a figure. The Play Store lists in-app purchases from $0.99 to $199.99 per item, and the landing's FAQ says you can start free, then buy "upgrades" or tokens. Actual subscription prices show up only inside the app.

The terms add two things to watch. Subscriptions and trials renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. And if a renewal payment fails, the company "will make several attempts to process the renewal using progressively smaller amounts" before it cancels you, so check your statement after a declined card.

The app is free to download and chatting starts without paying, according to the landing. How many messages you get before an upgrade prompt isn't published, and we didn't measure it.

Section 3.3 of the terms says the service "is not intended" for under-18s, then lets minors use it with a parent's permission and supervision. The privacy policy only asks you to be over 16. The prohibited-use list covers scraping, viruses and spam, but nothing about sexual content involving minors, real people or deepfakes.

For an app rated for sexual themes and selling roleplay, that's the main reason it stays off our lists.

In the app you pay through Google Play, so Google's refund rules apply. Web purchases go through Stripe and are "non-refundable and/or non-exchangeable" unless the law says otherwise; EU and UK users get a 14-day withdrawal right. The card statement name isn't published.

The privacy policy uses your data "to train and improve our AI models" and shares data with analytics and ad partners such as Amplitude, AppsFlyer, Firebase and Facebook. Data is kept "as long as it is reasonably necessary", and deletion is by request to [email protected].

It may suit you if you want a simple Android girlfriend chat with a cartoon-style avatar and don't need adult images.

Skip it if you want prices up front, an iPhone app from the same company, or an adult service whose rules spell out bans on minors. The three services below are 18+ and publish those rules.
