The terms say Premium, Bot Subscription and Neuron prices vary by region, plan length, character and promotions, and that Premium renews automatically until cancelled in My Subscriptions. What we checked on 23 and 24 October 2026

We opened joi.com after its "Yes, I'm over 18" prompt, the SFW site joi.ai, the creator program and every legal page, and re-read the Terms on 24 October because they had been updated in June. We did not create an account: Joi is on our neutral list because of its real-creator twins.

So the chat itself, the free limits, the price list inside the account and deletion are described from Joi's own documents.

What Joi AI is

Joi AI runs two sites. joi.com is the adult one: an Explore grid of companions with filters for creator type, age band and themes, plus image and video generation, a public Gallery and short videos. joi.ai shows only characters marked SFW. The current Terms name Lanoto Solutions Inc. as the provider, while the record-keeping notice still points to Novi Limited in Cyprus.

Three kinds of characters sit side by side: Joi Originals written by the company, community-made characters, and digital twins of real adult creators sold through creator.joi.com. The creator filter on joi.com also lists Celebrities.

What it costs

Joi doesn't publish prices; joi.com/pricing is a 404. The Terms describe a free Basic tier, a Premium subscription, add-on Bot Subscriptions for individual characters, and Neurons for anything adult.

Neurons are where the bill grows. Reading one romantic message costs 4, a photo view up to 120 and a video view up to 1,900, and Joi says prices vary by region, character and promotion. Bot Subscriptions stop working if your Premium lapses, without a refund for the gap.

Age rules and real people

The Terms say joi.com is "strictly for adults 18+" and set zero tolerance for sexual content involving minors, real or fictional. Section 6 describes filters that block requests involving minors and real identifiable individuals, and third-party age checks where the law or card networks require them.

The tension is the creator program. Joi sells AI versions of real people, under agreements with those creators, next to a Celebrities filter in the catalog. The written ban covers what you request, not what Joi itself sells.

Billing, refunds and privacy

You cancel Premium in Settings, My Subscriptions. Refunds are limited to 14 days and three cases: card fraud, a one-off erroneous purchase, or Joi ending your account. If you file a chargeback instead, the Refund Policy says Joi may disclose your private chats to prove the charge.

The Privacy Policy says your text and voice messages are used to improve the characters and develop Joi's AI, and session recordings go to Microsoft if you agree at sign-up. Account deletion is described as irreversible.

Who it fits, and who should skip it

It can fit you if you want a polished companion catalog with photo-realistic characters and you are comfortable paying per message and per media view.

Skip it if you want to see prices before signing up, want a flat monthly cost, or would rather not use a service that sells AI copies of real people.
