Nectar AI review: big memory tiers, mixed signals on age

We opened Nectar from a US connection, clicked "I'm over 18" and looked at the catalog with the NSFW switch on and off, the image generator, the FAQ, the terms and the privacy policy. Prices come from the plan and credit-pack data the homepage loads for every visitor, because the pricing page itself asks you to sign in.

We did not create an account. Our rule is to sign up only where the terms are adults-only, and Nectar's terms let under-18 users into SFW areas. Chat quality, memory, the free limits in practice and account deletion are untested.

Nectar AI is a companion platform with a large catalog of user-made and featured characters, a character builder and an image and video generator tied to the same characters. It is run by Nectar AI from Dover, Delaware, with Lick Labs Ltd in London named alongside it.

A switch above the catalog toggles NSFW content. For a logged-out visitor it was already on after the one-click age prompt. Tags such as NTR, Cheating and Dominant show the catalog leans toward adult roleplay.

Every plan has a list price and a lower discounted one in Nectar's own data. Premium shows $19.99 a month list and $9.99 discounted, Pro $29.99 and $19.99, Ultimate $49.99 and $34.99. Yearly prices drop to $59.99, $119.99 and $179.99 discounted. We could not confirm which figure appears at checkout.

The big differences between tiers are message caps and memory: 6,000 messages a month and 8K context on Premium, 9,000 and 16K on Pro, unlimited messages and 64K plus long-term memory on Ultimate. Credits for extra generations are sold in packs from $4.99.

Fifteen messages a day, and the companion only remembers the last 15. You also get 10 image generations a day, one photo message and one custom companion. That is enough to try the generator and the character builder, not enough for an ongoing story.

The generator works without sign-in up to the point of creating: you pick a model, write a prompt and a list of "icks" to avoid, and add faces, outfits, poses or effects. High resolution needs Pro and custom dimensions need Ultimate. Video generation and video messages are Ultimate features.

You cannot upload photos when creating a character, and the FAQ bans characters based on recognizable real people, named or not.

The FAQ says Nectar is for adults only, with no exceptions. The terms say users under 18 may use SFW areas but not NSFW mode. The privacy policy only says the service is not directed at children under 13. NSFW mode is described as limited to verified adults, but the verification method is not explained, and the switch was on for us after one click.

The content rules themselves are strict on paper: no sexual, suggestive or romantic content involving anyone under 18, whether the age is stated, implied by setting or suggested by appearance. Yet the default SFW listing still showed cards framed as a high school student or a younger sister, so the catalog needs careful filtering.

Paid subscriptions are non-refundable unless the law requires it; other requests are handled case by case. You can cancel any time and keep access until the period ends.

The FAQ says chats are private and not used to train external AI models; it does not say anything about Nectar's own models. The privacy policy publishes no retention period and allows government ID to be collected for identity checks. Account deletion is permanent but only by request to support.

Pick it if you want companion chat and a flexible image generator in one place, and you value long memory enough to pay for a higher tier.
