Perchance is a free, ad-funded platform of user-made generators, and its AI Character Chat and AI Image Generator need no sign-up and no payment. That is the appeal and the problem: there is no age gate, no published terms and no rule against content involving minors, while its own docs say the models can return NSFW results. We don't recommend it as an adult chat service.

HOW WE CHECKED Checked on 23-24 October 2026 through a US connection: the AI Character Chat and AI Image Generator pages, the welcome page and the documentation of Perchance's AI text and image plugins. Perchance needs no account, so there was nothing to register. We did not chat at length or generate images, and we looked for terms of service, an age rule and content rules but found none.

Perchance does not sell plans. The plugin documentation says non-logged-in users "fund the GPU servers by viewing ads on generators that import AI-based plugins". An optional login exists for creating and saving generators; we found no paid tier.

What Perchance is
Perchance is a platform where anyone can build and share random generators. Two of its most popular pages are AI tools built on its own plugins: AI Character Chat, where you talk to example characters or ones you create, and an AI Image Generator with dozens of art styles. Both run in the browser and need no account.
What it costs
Nothing. There are no plans or credits. The plugin docs say people who are not logged in pay for the servers by seeing ads, and one day a month is jokingly set aside to thank them. Expect ad-heavy pages that can slow your browser.
Where your chats go
The character chat stores your conversations and characters in your browser, not on a server, and warns that clearing site data deletes them; you can export a backup. The text plugin docs say prompts and replies are not stored on the server, and images are saved only if you add them to a gallery. That is more private than most services here, but there is no privacy policy to hold the operator to it.
No age gate and no rules
We found no terms of service, no age requirement and no content rules for the AI tools; reserved pages such as /terms only show an error. The plugin docs say the models can return NSFW results and tell you to treat them "like a Google image search". Nothing stops minors from using it, and nothing published bans sexual content involving minors or real people. User-made characters and gallery images are not reviewed in any way we could see.
Who should pick it, and who should skip it
Perchance is fine for free creative writing, random generators and quick SFW images when you don't want an account.
If you want adult chat, pick a service with an 18+ rule, a clear ban on content involving minors and someone you can contact, such as the alternatives below.
