PolyBuzz review: free roleplay chat with ads and a busy catalog

We confirmed the 18+ checkbox, signed up with a disposable email (a 6-digit code arrived within 15 seconds, no CAPTCHA), and sent 10 SFW messages to a public travel-guide character on the free Standard model. We also opened the builder, the image generator, the coin store, the plans and the parental controls, then deleted the account.

We did not pay, so the premium models, Permanent Memory and the checkout page stay untested.

PolyBuzz is a character roleplay app from Cloud Whale Interactive Technology LLC. You browse community characters by tag or build your own, then chat by text, with optional voice and generated pictures. It is not an adult chat. The terms ban pornography and sexual acts, and the FAQ says public NSFW content is prohibited.

The For you feed leans on fan characters from anime and games, school-set storylines, and bots named after real K-pop idols and singers, with a "Celebrity" tag in the main row. The web version also shows a full-screen ad, opened pop-under tabs during our sign-up, and keeps a game banner in the sidebar.

Premium is $15.9 a month or $199 a year. Ultimate starts with a $14.9 first week, and its renewal price was not on the page; the yearly Ultimate plan is $299. Every plan card showed a much higher struck-through price and a countdown that restarted at a new value on each reload, so treat the discount as permanent pricing.

Coins are a second budget. Packs run from $2.49 for 1,000 to $19.9 for 20,000, and they pay for premium model rounds, Live Photos and unlocking extras. The terms rule out refunds for a completed purchase without due reason.

Replies were quick: 2.3, 2.9 and 1.7 seconds in our three timed samples, after a 7.9-second first answer. Each reply ran about 50 words with a short stage direction. On message 8 the bot recalled the name and favourite food we gave in message 1. It also invented a few travel facts, so don't use it as a guide.

We hit no message limit in 10 messages. The paywall appears when you pick a better model: Overture asks for Ultimate or 600 coins for 20 rounds, and the Permanent Memory panel is locked.

Your default public profile name is the part of your email before the @, so change it if that identifies you. The privacy policy says uploaded photos may be used to train PolyBuzz's AI. The FAQ claims nobody, not even the company, can read your chats.

The terms set the minimum age at 18 and describe a date-of-birth step that the web did not show us. At the same time, PolyBuzz offers parental controls "for children" in the app, and the Android listing is rated Mature 17+. Deleting the account is possible without support at polybuzz.ai/account, but only with no active membership and fewer than 100 coins; it took us two clicks and logged us out at once.

It fits you if you want free SFW roleplay, quick replies and a big catalog, and you can live with ads.
