Is PolyBuzz safe? What its terms and privacy policy say
Editorial draft. This page demonstrates the template. Selection, recommendations and copy await review.
PolyBuzz age rules, data collection, the NSFW filter and account deletion, checked against the official terms, privacy policy and FAQ.

The short answer
"Safe" covers three separate questions: what happens to your data, what content the service allows, and how billing works. PolyBuzz publishes clear rules on the second and third. On data, its documents disagree with each other in places, so the honest answer is: treat it like any hosted chat service, not like a private diary.
This page is based on the PolyBuzz Terms of Use, Privacy Policy (both last updated June 1, 2026) and the official FAQ. We did not test a paid account, and we did not test moderation. For pricing and the product itself, see the PolyBuzz review.
Who runs PolyBuzz
Both the terms and the privacy policy name the operator as Singularity Mutual Entertainment Culture Media Limited, with a postal address in Kwun Tong, Hong Kong. Privacy requests go to [email protected] (the policy asks for the subject line "Attn: DPO" for its Data Protection Officer), and general support to [email protected]. The policy includes sections for California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia and Nevada residents; for Virginia requests it states a 45-day response window.
Age rules
The terms are direct: "You must have reached 18-year-old to use PolyBuzz", and minors are prohibited worldwide. On first use, guests and registering users enter a date of birth. If the operator believes a user is under 18, the terms say the account will be suspended unless the user can prove adult age.
For the United Kingdom, the privacy policy describes mandatory age verification under the Online Safety Act through third-party providers (Ondato and Yoti are named). PolyBuzz states that it does not store the ID documents, only the outcome ("verified" or "not verified").
One inconsistency: the FAQ describes "graded modes for different age groups", including a separate mode for users under 18, while the terms and privacy policy set an 18+ minimum. We treat the terms as the binding text and flag the mismatch rather than resolve it.
What data PolyBuzz collects
The privacy policy lists the following categories:
- Account: email address, username, date of birth; login through Google, Apple or email.
- Content: "uploaded pictures or input text", plus voice input if you allow the microphone.
- Device and logs: device ID, IMEI, MAC address, IP address, OS version, advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, Android ID), browsing and network logs.
- Location and contacts: the policy lists precise geolocation and "your Contacts" among the data it may collect, tied to device permissions.
- Payments: purchase and payment records; if you pay through a third party, your name, profile picture and payment record from that party.
On use and sharing, the policy says PolyBuzz shares information "with third parties (including the Chat-GPT platform) that help us deliver effective functionality", that uploaded photos may be used to "train our AI algorithm", and that it allows third-party advertising networks to place cookies and similar trackers. It also states: "We DO NOT sell User Information." To opt out of personalised advertising or data sharing, the policy asks you to email with the subject line "Opt-out Request".
Are PolyBuzz chats private?
The FAQ says chats are "completely private" and that "neither the creators nor Poly have access to the chat content". Elsewhere the same FAQ explains it more narrowly: other users cannot see your chats unless you share them.
The privacy policy describes something different from end-to-end privacy: input text is personal information the company collects, and it is shared with service providers, including the model platform named above, to generate replies. The fair reading is that chats are private from other users, not from the operator and its processors. Avoid typing your full name, address, workplace or anything about real third parties.
How the PolyBuzz NSFW filter works
PolyBuzz is not an adult-content service, and the filter reflects that. Three published rules shape it:
- Content rules. The community guidelines in the terms prohibit content that "depicts pornography or sexual acts" or "solicits sexual content or activity", with "zero tolerance" for any sexual content involving minors.
- Public content is screened. According to the FAQ, PolyBuzz "strictly prohibit[s] public display of NSFW content", and "all recommended content undergoes multi-layered AI screening and human moderation". Users can report material.
- Characters can be flagged. A character marked "Violation" (the FAQ lists pornography, minors, inappropriate language and sensitive topics as common reasons) becomes visible only to its creator, its avatar may reset, and the creator can edit and resubmit it. The terms also allow PolyBuzz to reject uploads, block or delete content "without prior notice".
Why it exists. The app is distributed through Apple and Google stores, which restrict sexual content in apps, and the service runs a large public character library where moderation has to happen before content is recommended to others. The filter is a policy decision by the operator, not a technical glitch.
We do not publish ways around it. Working around a filter breaks the PolyBuzz terms and can end in suspension. If you are an adult looking for services whose terms allow adult themes by design, compare PolyBuzz alternatives and check each one's published rules.
How to delete a PolyBuzz account
Both the terms and the privacy policy give the same path: Setting → Account → Delete. Before you start:
- Cancel any subscription first. The terms allow deletion only if the account has no open dispute, no outstanding charge, and any purchased premium service has expired. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel there; uninstalling the app does not cancel a Google Play subscription, according to Google. Steps are in our AI companion billing guide.
- Expect it to be final. The terms call deletion irreversible: you cannot log back in or recover content or unused purchases.
- Know what remains. The privacy policy says some data may stay in backups until the backup system is updated, and the terms say anonymized data and data required by law "will continue to be kept".
- Need more than deletion? You can ask for a copy of your data or correction by email to [email protected]; the policy says identity verification is required before a request is processed.
Billing and refunds
According to the terms, paid plans renew automatically "unless it is cancelled on or before the last day of the subscription period". The FAQ adds that benefits stay active until the paid period ends. PolyBuzz also sells coins, a virtual currency used for extra voice time, regenerated replies and similar features.
Refunds are limited. The terms state that users "are not entitled to any refund for a completed purchase without due reason". App store purchases follow Apple's or Google's own refund process, covered in the billing guide.
Checklist before you use PolyBuzz
- Use an email address that does not contain your real name.
- Decline location, contacts and microphone permissions you do not need.
- Do not upload photos of yourself or other real people.
- Keep a note of where you subscribed (web, App Store or Google Play); that is where you cancel.
- If you want adult content, choose a service whose terms permit it rather than one that prohibits it.

Is PolyBuzz safe to use?
PolyBuzz requires users to be 18+, moderates public content and lets you delete your account in settings. Its privacy policy allows sharing chat input with service providers and advertising trackers, so do not treat chats as confidential.
How do I delete my PolyBuzz account?
Go to Setting → Account → Delete. Cancel any active subscription first: the terms only allow deletion when there is no outstanding charge or dispute and purchased premium services have expired. Deletion is irreversible.
Can PolyBuzz see my chats?
The FAQ says chats are private, and other users cannot see them unless you share them. The privacy policy, however, lists input text as collected data and describes sharing with service providers, including a model platform, to generate replies.
Does PolyBuzz allow NSFW content?
No. The terms prohibit pornographic and sexual content, and the FAQ says public NSFW content is blocked by AI screening and human moderation. We do not publish ways around the filter.
Does deleting the app cancel my subscription?
No. App store subscriptions are cancelled in the App Store or Google Play settings, and web subscriptions in account settings. Google states that uninstalling an app does not cancel its subscription.
