What we checked on 23 October 2026
We opened Kupid's plans page on all three tabs, the home page, the first steps of the character builder, the terms, privacy policy and 2257 statement from a US connection without logging in. We also searched the App Store and Google Play for a Kupid app.
We did not register. Kupid is not on our list of recommended services, so we only test those with an account. Chat quality, memory and media are described from Kupid's own pages, not measured.
What Kupid AI is
Kupid AI is an AI girlfriend and boyfriend service. You pick a ready-made companion, each with an age and a short bio, or build one from a style, face, body and voice, then chat and receive photos, short videos and voice notes. Characters also sell private photo packs for coins.
No company is named in the terms or the privacy policy. Disputes go to the courts of Malta.
What it costs
Kupid sells passes by the week, the year or for life. Pro is $12.99 for a week or $179 for a year; Ultra is $24.99 or $299; a lifetime pass is $777. All of it sat under a "75% OFF" banner with a countdown of about half an hour when we checked.
The plans page says "One payment, nothing renews". The terms say the opposite in passing: they tell you to email support "to cancel your subscription from rebilling". Read the checkout screen before you pay. There are no refunds: the terms call every sale final.
At the guest checkout the payment buttons were crypto and Alipay. Coins that come with a plan expire after six months.
What the free plan gets you
Fifteen messages and one custom character, with no photos. The home page promises "Unlimited Chat for Free" after sign-up; the plan table says otherwise.
What the rules leave out
The terms say plainly that Kupid includes adult content and that users must be 18 or the legal age where they live. That is where the rules stop. There is no clause against sexual content involving minors and none about images of real people or deepfakes; the privacy policy only says the service is not for under-18s.
The site itself adds to the concern. The home page category list includes "Teen", and the builder's body options include a "Flat" chest size. Every listed character we saw was given an age of 21 or older.
Privacy and your data
The privacy policy dates from February 2023. It says Kupid usually keeps personal data for six years after you close your account, and it mentions a company called "Usway" that appears nowhere else. It does not say whether chats are used to train models. You can ask for your data to be erased, and the policy promises a reply within a month.
Who might use it, and who should look elsewhere
Kupid suits someone who wants a short paid trial of an AI girlfriend with photos and voice notes and is fine paying by crypto or Alipay.
