Janitor AI alternatives with simpler billing and clearer privacy

Janitor AI is a free front end for community-written bots, and its built-in model has no message cap. People search for Janitor AI alternatives for practical reasons rather than content rules: up to three separate bills, a short default memory, external API setups that send chats to other companies, and a privacy policy without a training switch.

The four services below each answer one of those problems.

• Chub AI (https://chub.ai/). For people who already use their own API key: Chub supports outside model connections but also runs its own models. The terms say private chats are not used to train AI models, and the privacy policy says data is not disclosed to third parties without consent. Its one plan costs $20 a month, paid in crypto only (October 23, 2026). Official site: chub.ai.
• Kindroid (https://kindroid.ai/). An answer to JLLM's short context: Kindroid is built around long-term memory, and its Ultra and MAX add-ons extend short-term memory. The moderation guidelines allow NSFW content for adults, and the privacy policy states data is not sold or shared. Official site: kindroid.ai.
• Secrets AI. A memory-focused companion with every price published in USD (free tier of 20 messages a day; Premium at $19.99 a month). The privacy policy says chat history is deleted immediately when you delete the account, a clearer statement than Janitor's, whose help center calls deletion permanent while its privacy policy describes a restore grace period.
• JuicyChat. Character chat and creation with memory features, behind an 18+ confirmation, with community guidelines that set out moderation and appeals. Prices are not published before sign-in (checked October 24, 2026), and the privacy policy does not clearly exclude chats from training.

Three possible bills. According to the help center there is the janitor+ subscription, prepaid janitor+ Router credits billed per token, and any external provider you connect with your own key. Subscriptions are generally non-refundable, and Router credits are non-refundable except where law requires. janitor+ itself costs $12.99 a month or $99 a year (checked October 24, 2026).

Short default memory. The help center describes JLLM's memory as roughly 8,000 to 9,000 tokens. Past that, the oldest messages fall out of context.

Third-party exposure. When you connect an external model, every message in that chat is sent to that provider under its own privacy policy. A proxy run by an unknown party can read and keep both your messages and your key.

No training switch. The privacy policy lists chats among collected data and research to improve the AI among its purposes, without a separate training switch. The help center does confirm that Stripe handles cards, k-ID age checks return only a yes or no, and account deletion removes posts, characters, personas and profile data. Chub AI states 18+ in its terms and keeps adult content behind account toggles. Kindroid can ask for a Yoti check. Secrets AI uses an age gate with checks on request. JuicyChat asks for an 18+ confirmation in the interface.

• You want one predictable bill: Secrets AI, with every price published in USD.
• You want to keep using your own API key: Chub AI, which also offers its own models so you are not forced into an outside provider.
• Your characters forget too fast: Kindroid or Secrets AI, both built around memory.
• You only want a free option: Janitor AI's own free tier is hard to beat; most alternatives limit free use.
