Free adult AI chat: 18+ chat sites and what the free tier covers

The free part of an adult chat service is usually narrow, and something else pays for it: a credit wall, a second bill from an outside model, or your data. This page sets out what each service's own pages say the free tier covers and what starts costing money after it.

• Janitor AI. Best for: Unlimited free adult character chat. The help center says the free tier includes unlimited chats with community bots on Janitor's own model, with about 9,000 tokens of context. Adult characters must carry a Limitless tag, and the help center bans minor-coded characters outright. Users in Australia, Brazil and the UK pass a one-time k-ID age check that returns only an over-18 yes or no.
• Chub AI (https://chub.ai/). Best for: Free chat with a model you connect yourself. Browsing is free, new accounts get one-time trial credits for "a few dozen messages" (checked October 23, 2026), and after that chat stays free only with your own API key. If you connect an outside provider, that provider bills you and its data policy applies to every message. The terms say private chats are not used to train an AI model, but the site loads ad and analytics tags that the privacy policy does not list.
• GirlfriendGPT. Best for: A free sample of an adult-first chat library, topped up by tasks. Adult fiction between characters is the core of the product, and the free account covers about 10 to 20 messages with 2 or 3 characters, plus credits from tasks. Paid credits reset monthly and do not carry over. Plan prices load only after sign-in.
• Nectar AI (https://nectar.ai/). Best for: A free tier on a platform that separates adult content into its own mode. Nectar AI's plan data, loaded on its homepage on October 23, 2026, lists a free tier of 15 messages and 10 image generations a day with 1 custom companion, next to three paid USD tiers. Adult content requires the NSFW mode, which the FAQ limits to verified adults, though the method is not described. If you outgrow the free tier, credit packs start at $4.99.
• GoLove AI (https://goloveai.com/). Best for: Browsing a large character library before the credit wall. GoLove's homepage advertises unlimited free chat, while its terms say users are directed to buy credits after a usage limit, with "e.g., 10 messages" as the example (checked October 23, 2026). The Blocked Content Policy bans content that exploits or resembles minors. The privacy policy keeps data for six years after you stop being a user, and no self-serve deletion is documented.

This list is about chat platforms where adult conversation is a permitted use, not about companion apps with one main character. A service had to meet two conditions to be considered: its own rules allow adult content for users 18 and older, and an official page confirms that some chat is free. Then we ordered them by:

1. The free allowance, as documented: unlimited, capped, or metered by coins or credits.
2. What comes after free: credits, coins, subscriptions or an outside provider's bill, and whether those prices are published.
3. Data use on free accounts: training, advertising tags and retention, from the privacy policy.
4. Age checks: self-declaration, verification in some countries, or verification for adult mode.
5. Deletion: a self-serve button or a request to support.

Facts that could not be confirmed on an official page are marked "not verified" or "not published".

Credits and coins. GoLove's terms say that after a usage limit, users are directed to buy credits. Nectar AI sells credit packs from $4.99 for 2,500 credits up to $199.99. GirlfriendGPT gives paid users 5,000 to 20,000 credits a month, which reset monthly.

A second bill from an outside model. Janitor AI and Chub let you connect third-party models. On Janitor AI that can mean three separate bills: the janitor+ subscription, prepaid Router credits and the external provider. On Chub, an own API connection is billed by the provider, not by Chub. The model may be cheap or free to try, but its provider sees your messages.

A subscription after a short trial. Several services here present the free tier as a preview. GirlfriendGPT's free account is an example of about 10 to 20 messages in total, and Chub's trial credits are one-time. GirlfriendGPT's paid prices are visible only after sign-in.

Free accounts are covered by the same privacy policies as paid ones, and those policies differ a lot:

• Training. Chub's terms say private characters and chats are not used to train an AI model. Nectar AI's FAQ says content is "not used to train external AI models", which leaves internal training open.
• Advertising and analytics. Chub's page code loads Google advertising and analytics tags and a Cloudflare analytics script that its privacy text does not list.
• Retention. GoLove keeps data for six years after you stop being a user. Nectar AI and Chub publish no retention period. Janitor AI's privacy policy keeps data "only for as long as necessary".

Keep identifying details out of any chat. A data breach at another companion site in 2024 exposed email addresses together with chat prompts, which is why Muah.AI is not recommended anywhere in our catalogue. Our privacy guide explains what to keep out of a companion chat.

A free adult chat still requires you to be 18 or older under every service's terms. How that is checked varies. Janitor AI runs a one-time k-ID check for users connecting from Australia, Brazil or the UK, and the help center says k-ID returns only an over-18 yes or no. Nectar AI says its NSFW mode is only for verified users aged 18 and over. GoLove relies on an age gate where users confirm they are adults, GirlfriendGPT on self-declaration, and Chub AI states 18+ in its terms without describing a check. • Is the next step a subscription or a credit pack? Credits often expire or reset; GirlfriendGPT's do not carry over.
• Refund rules. GoLove allows refunds only within 24 hours and only if fewer than 20 credits were used. Chub does not offer refunds unless the company grants one. Nectar AI's subscriptions are non-refundable except where law requires.
• Outside providers. If you add your own API key, read that provider's pricing and privacy policy too.
• Deletion. Janitor AI and Chub offer self-serve deletion. Nectar AI asks you to contact support, GirlfriendGPT grants a right to erase without stating how long data is kept, and GoLove documents no self-serve option.
