OurDream vs Candy AI: prices, media rules and privacy side by side

OurDream and Candy AI are close rivals: both are browser-based AI companion services for adults, both combine chat with generated images, video and voice, and both pay for media with a second currency on top of a subscription. Both also refuse photo uploads.

The differences are in the paperwork: what is published about prices, how refunds work, how age is checked and what each says about your chats. We do not name an overall choice: the right one depends on what you need, as the verdict list shows.

As of October 24, 2026, OurDream's public character catalog includes a "Teen" tag. We do not recommend services that surface age-ambiguous tags; this comparison is kept for information.

OurDream publishes its prices in USD in the homepage FAQ: $19.99 a month, or $9.99 a month on the yearly plan, billed as one $119.88 payment with a one-time 1,000 dreamcoin bonus. Both plans include unlimited messages and 1,000 dreamcoins a month.

Candy AI's plans start at $3.99 a month on the yearly plan ($47.88 billed once), or $13.99 a month after a $9.99 first month (US prices, October 23, 2026). Premium is sold for 1, 3 or 12 months, with a discounted first month on the monthly plan and upfront billing on longer terms. It includes unlimited text chat and 100 tokens a month. The charge shows as "EverAI" on bank statements.

This is the clearest difference. OurDream's help center lists what each feature costs:

On those figures, the monthly allowance covers about 50 seconds of standard video or 20 minutes of calls, if spent on that alone.

Candy AI does not publish per-feature token costs on public pages; the app shows them before you spend. Remaining tokens expire when a subscription ends and cannot be carried to a new one. Top-up pack prices are visible only in the logged-in store.

Both services are for adults 18+ and allow adult content between fictional adult characters. Both ban content resembling minors and content depicting real people.

On age checks, OurDream is more specific: every account confirms age at sign-up, and where law requires it, users verify with Go.cam or AgeVerif, with OurDream receiving only a pass or fail signal. Candy AI uses an age gate and says it "may also implement further measures to verify that users are adults, in accordance with local requirements."

On moderation, OurDream combines automated classifiers with human reviewers, and appeals go to a person. Candy AI says chats are "generally private", but flagged content can be reviewed manually by EverAI "or authorized partners".

Neither service accepts photos from users, which is the most important safety point for any generator.

• Candy AI: "Although users cannot upload or share content on the Services, ... We have a zero-tolerance policy for the creation or attempted creation of non-consensual intimate imagery and images intended to resemble actual persons ("deepfakes")." (Blocked Content Policy)
• OurDream: "We do not allow for the uploading of reference photos to OurDream due to possible deepfakes and other legal problems." (help center) The Acceptable Use Policy lists "Real people, living or recently deceased" under content never allowed.

One difference for privacy: OurDream places images of public characters in a public community pack, without generator details.

Candy AI's Privacy Notice (revised October 19, 2026) says de-identified chats may be used to "train and develop our AI models and moderation technologies", and third-party LLM providers "may receive the content of your messages". It promises TLS encryption in transit, not end-to-end encryption. Account data is generally kept for three years after your last activity, or deleted "without undue delay" on request.

OurDream's statements need careful reading. The homepage FAQ promises "end-to-end encryption" and says "No one can read them, not even us." The Trust and Safety privacy summary is more precise: staff see private chats only with your consent or for a legal request, but AI model providers process each message to generate the reply. The Privacy Policy also lists training its AI models among data uses. OurDream says it does not sell chats or user data. You delete the account yourself in Settings, Account management.

In short, Candy AI's wording is more consistent, and OurDream's deletion is easier to find. Neither offers chats that no third party processes. More in the AI companion privacy guide.

• Candy AI: a subscription refund must be requested within 24 hours of payment, only for card payments, and is refused if more than 20 tokens were used; used token packs are not refunded. EU and UK users have a statutory withdrawal right on the first purchase, minus what was used. Cancel auto-renewal in Settings. The terms allow price increases with notice before renewal.
• OurDream: cancel any time in account settings; later periods are not charged. Unused parts of a billing period are generally non-refundable unless law requires otherwise, and crypto payments are final. The only free dreamcoins come through referrals, according to the help center.
