Secrets AI: rewind and try another path
Secrets AI's best story tool is Time Travel. Click the clock in the chat header, pick any earlier message and the story continues from there. Everything after that point is deleted, so it works like a hard branch, not a save slot. Scenarios give you a ready opening, filterable by genre (Mystery, Romance, Adventure) and content level. OOC Commands let you tell the AI what you want without breaking the scene, and Multiple Chats let you run different storylines with the same companion.
The documentation puts unusual weight on memory: lorebooks (Premium and Ultimate), recalled past conversations and longer context on higher tiers.
- Price: 20 free messages a day; Premium $19.99 a month or $109.99 a year; Ultimate $39.99 a month or $319.99 a year.
- Content rules: adult content is available; content involving minors is banned, and safety checks can stop a single reply.
- The minus: the free tier is tight for long fiction, and Moments (for media) cannot be bought without a subscription.

Janitor AI: free length, your choice of model
Janitor is chat-first, but writers use it for long serial stories because the free tier has unlimited chats with about 9k tokens of context. Bots carry a description, a scenario and an opening message; personas set who you are in the story. Scripts add lorebooks that load world details on trigger words, and advanced creators can write rules on top.
You can also connect another model provider through a proxy or the paid Router. That moves your text to a third company, which our proxy guide explains.
- Price: standard-model chat is free. janitor+ costs $12.99/month or $99/year; renews automatically, tax not included. Checked October 24, 2026 on the official janitor+ page.
- Content rules: 18+ only; sexual or romantic characters must be tagged Limitless; minor-coded characters and personas are banned.
- The minus: the privacy policy sets no retention period and does not say plainly whether chats train models.
Chub AI: pick your model, branch your chats
Chub suits writers who already know which model they like. Chats can run on Chub's own models or on a connection you bring, such as OpenRouter, NovelAI or a local backend. The docs list chat trees (branching conversations), chat import and export, presets for prompt structure, and lorebooks with a scan depth and token budget you set yourself. Chub's docs describe the platform as uncensored, with adult content behind account toggles.
- Price: Mars $20 a month with unlimited messaging, per the docs; other tiers load after sign-in and were not published.
- Content rules: 18+; any character, lorebook, preset or stage sexualizing someone who is or appears under 18 is banned.
- The minus: setup takes effort, and only the $20 Mars price could be confirmed. Ad and analytics tags load on the site but are not listed in its privacy policy.
Nectar AI: one storyline that keeps going
Nectar is a companion app, but its memory focus helps serial fiction. The FAQ says companions keep storylines and shared history across sessions, with extended memory on paid plans. Its tip for longer stories is practical: more detail in the opening prompt and more example dialogue in advanced settings. Fantasies give you a premise and a role before you start, and a Fantasy with several companions becomes a group story.
- Price: Premium $19.99 a month list ($9.99 discounted), Pro $29.99 ($19.99), Ultimate $49.99 ($34.99). Which price shows at checkout was not verified.
- Content rules: NSFW mode is for verified users 18 and over; minors and non-consensual scenarios are banned.
- The minus: the terms, FAQ and privacy policy give different minimum ages, and account deletion goes through support.
