Tolan app: the alien AI friend, prices, age rules and privacy

Tolan is an iPhone app where each account gets its own animated AI character that talks by voice or text, remembers past conversations and helps with everyday tasks. Portola describes Tolan as a friendly guide and says it is not a therapist or a romantic partner.

Free use: Tolan Basic is the free version. The trial lasts 24 or 72 hours; after a cancelled trial, the help center says chat stops unless you invite a friend or buy a one-time Relay Boost.

Conversations are logged to build your Tolan's memory and kept until you delete the account. Portola says it does not sell conversations or use them to train general AI models, and shares data with AI, hosting and analytics vendors.
