Janitor AI app: where to get it and how NSFW works on mobile

Yes. Janitor AI's official app is called Janitor: Interactive Stories. It is on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android. It is free to download, and janitor+ is sold in the app for $12.99 a month or $99 a year (US App Store, checked 30 October 2026).

The catch is moderation. To meet App Store and Google Play rules, the app starts in Safe Mode: NSFW bots are hidden and replies are tuned to stay SFW. You cannot switch this off inside the app. You turn it on from the website, in Settings → Privacy & Display → Enable NSFW on Mobile, and then restart the app. Janitor's help center says the store listings it links to are the only official Janitor apps.

Google Play rates the app Mature 17+, but Janitor's own rules are stricter: the service is for users 18 and over. Install only from these two listings. Janitor's help center calls them the only official Janitor apps, so an APK or an app from anywhere else is not an official Janitor app.

Janitor's mobile app moderation article lists what Safe Mode changes until you enable NSFW on the website:

• Discovery: NSFW bots are not searchable and do not appear in discovery feeds.
• Replies: the model is tuned to generate SFW responses.
• Visuals: NSFW images inside custom CSS are hidden.
• Language: certain explicit words are blocked.

One restriction stays even after you switch NSFW on: only links to approved community sites, such as Discord and X, are clickable in the app. Janitor says it moderates the app this way so the app can stay available on iOS and Android.

The switch lives on the website, not in the app:

1. Open janitorai.com in a web browser such as Safari, Chrome or Firefox, on your phone or a computer.
2. Log in with the same account you use in the app.
3. Open your profile, then Settings → Privacy & Display.
4. Turn on Enable NSFW on Mobile.
5. Close the Janitor app completely and open it again.

Adult content on Janitor is for users 18 and over. Accounts on an IP address in Australia, Brazil or the UK also get a one-time age check through k-ID.

Janitor labels every bot with one of two content tags, and the tag is how adult bots are marked:

• Limited bots suit general audiences: no sexual or romantic characteristics, themes or scenarios.
• Limitless is required when a bot has sexual or romantic themes in its personality (even if the picture and storyline are SFW), NSFW plotlines, or explicit dialogue examples.

Limitless does not mean anything goes. Content that breaks Janitor's zero-tolerance rules is removed whatever its tag, and explicit bot avatars are not allowed on Janitor at all.

• Extras in the app: haptic feedback and push notifications, according to Janitor's download FAQ.
• Still a beta: the help center calls the app a beta and asks for bug reports through a support ticket or the bug channel on Janitor's Discord. The Google Play listing says the same.
• Billing: janitor+ bought in the app is billed and cancelled through Apple or Google. On the website, payments go through Stripe and are cancelled in Settings.
• Router is web only: the janitor+ Router, which bills third-party models per token, works on the website only.
