Is Janitor AI free? What the free plan includes, and when you pay

Yes, Janitor AI is free to use. The free plan gives unlimited chats with community bots on Janitor's own model, JLLM, with about 9k tokens of context, and no message cap is published. You pay only if you want janitor+ ($12.99 a month, or $99 a year), Router credits for third-party models, or a model you connect with your own API key, which that provider bills separately.

We could not test how well either plan recalls older messages.

2. Router credits: a prepaid wallet for third-party models inside Janitor, charged per token at each model's rate (web only). Subscribers get a 10% discount on some models and a $1 launch credit.
3. Your own API key: if you connect an outside model, that provider bills you directly, and every message in that chat goes to it.

• Message limit: none published for the free plan.
• Adult content: allowed for adults on the website for bots tagged Limitless. The iPhone and Android apps start in Safe Mode; NSFW is switched on in account settings on the website.
• Media: text only. There is no image generator, voice or video.
• Age check: a self-declared 18+ at sign-up, plus a one-time check for visitors in Australia, Brazil and the UK.
• Apps: iPhone (App Store, 18+) and Android (Google Play, Mature 17+); the Janitor AI app guide shows how to switch on NSFW.

Web subscriptions are cancelled in Settings, Billing, Manage Subscription. If you subscribed in the app, cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. The help center says subscriptions are generally non-refundable except where the terms or the law require, and Router credits are non-refundable except where the law requires.
